Unless you run in crowds that discuss the merits of fractional jet ownership versus the full commitment of buying your own G5 whilst sipping drams of 30-year old single malt or complain over the outrageous charges levied for docking your mega yacht in Monaco, then you probably haven’t experienced a Kaleidescape system before outside the pages of a Robb Report.

In fact, you might be surprised that Kaleidescape has been in busi...

True story: I applied for my first credit card when I was 17 so I could buy a radar detector via mail order. A few weeks later I had my card and my detector.

This will be my 15th CEDIA Expo, and it is the tech event that I most look forward to each year. While I’ve written of some of my favorite CEDIA Expo memories and why I love the Expo, I thought I would share with you some of the possible WORST things that could...

Director: Meridian Digital Awesome You Can Afford

Posted on August 5, 2013 at 11:55 AM Comments comments (0)

If you’ve ever picked up an audio mag or perused an Internet forum that discusses electronica, then you’ll know that in nearly every case, music must go through some transformation before it gets from the speakers to those wonderful audio receptors on the sides of your head. That transformation is from digital to analog, and it is a  very important, mysterious process, involving wizards with grizzled beards and rainbow-tailed unicorns and is done in a device ca...

Top 10 Best IPAs I've Ever Tasted

Posted on August 1, 2013 at 11:25 AM Comments comments (2)

Today – August 1 – is IPA Day; a day where people around the globe are encouraged to celebrate by drinking large tulip glasses filled with hop-juicy deliciousness. In my house, last night was IPA night as I began celebration by downing three New Belgium Rampants. To be fair, nearly every day is IPA Day in my home, as I constantly have a fridge filled with a variety of IPAs.

To date I’ve reviewed about 200 beers and have ...
